While the world knows UPS for small brown boxes, UPS Supply Chain Solutions (SCS) handles the heavy, complex, and specialized freight that powers global businesses. As a UPS SCS Box Truck Driver, you step away from residential porches and dive directly into B2B (Business-to-Business) commercial logistics. You will pilot a massive 24-to-26-foot straight truck equipped with a heavy-duty hydraulic liftgate to transport palletized freight, medical equipment, and high-value retail goods directly to commercial loading docks. This role offers highly structured, predictable daytime hours and eliminates the stress of residential routing.

Commercial Route Duties

• Dedicated B2B Routing: Execute a highly efficient, multi-stop route between commercial industrial parks, hospitals, and retail distribution centers, ensuring businesses receive their heavy freight on time.
• Heavy Liftgate Operations: This is a hands-on role. Because you are delivering to businesses without proper loading docks, you will rely heavily on your truck's hydraulic liftgate and a manual pallet jack to lower 1,000+ lb pallets to the street level safely.
• Logistics Documentation: Serve as the primary professional point of contact for the corporate client. You must meticulously verify freight conditions, sign Bills of Lading (BOLs), and utilize handheld scanners to confirm chain-of-custody.
• Commercial Vehicle Mastery: Safely drive a large commercial straight truck through congested city streets and tight commercial alleyways, executing precise backing maneuvers while strictly adhering to DOT regulations.

Requirements

Must be 21+ years old with a valid driver's license. A Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL-B) is highly preferred and often required for the weight class of the box truck. Exceptional physical stamina and the ability to maneuver heavy pallets via pallet jack are required. You must pass a strict DOT physical, background check, and drug test.
