Cross-Country Logistics at Maximum Velocity
When high-priority freight needs to cross the country faster than a train but cheaper than an airplane, UPS relies on elite Sleeper Team Drivers. In this high-mileage, incredibly lucrative role, you will partner with a co-driver to operate a custom-built UPS sleeper tractor across massive interstate routes. While one driver pilots the rig, the other rests in the DOT-approved sleeper berth, allowing the truck to move continuously from coast to coast. This is the absolute highest-earning driving position within the UPS network, designed for road warriors who want maximum miles paired with legendary Teamster benefits.
Long Haul Operations
- Continuous Coast-to-Coast Transit: Safely operate a commercial tractor pulling twin 28-foot trailers (doubles) or standard 53-foot vans across extensive multi-day interstate routes, running non-stop between major national hubs.
- Team Synchronization: Work flawlessly with your co-driver to manage Hours of Service (HOS) logs, coordinate fuel stops, and ensure the freight never stops moving.
- Drop-and-Hook Efficiency: Maximize your driving hours. You will not touch the freight. You simply drop your loaded trailers at the destination hub, hook up to outbound trailers, and head back across the country.
- All-Weather Navigation: Traverse massive geographical distances, requiring extreme proficiency in driving through diverse weather conditions, from desert heat to Rocky Mountain snowstorms.
Why Drive Sleeper Teams for UPS?
- Maximum Earning Potential: UPS Sleeper Teams are among the highest-compensated in the trucking industry. With highly lucrative mileage rates combined with delay pay and drop/hook pay, you can comfortably earn an elite six-figure salary.
- Unmatched Union Benefits: Even while operating over-the-road, you retain the legendary UPS Teamsters benefits package, including a phenomenal pension, zero-premium healthcare, and massive paid time off accruals.
- Modern Equipment: Drive incredibly well-maintained, modern sleeper tractors equipped with premium mattresses, APUs, refrigerators, and advanced safety telemetry.
