Position Overview
We are seeking skilled and safety-conscious professionals to join our team as a FedEx Fleet Maintenance Technician. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the diagnosis, preventative maintenance, and repair of our commercial vehicle fleet. This position provides an excellent alternative to the unpredictable flat-rate pay structures of private automotive dealerships, offering you a stable, highly rewarding mechanical career with guaranteed hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive preventative maintenance inspections and services on light, medium, and heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
- Utilize advanced computerized diagnostic equipment to accurately troubleshoot engine, transmission, and electrical system failures.
- Execute necessary repairs efficiently, ensuring all vehicles meet strict DOT and FedEx safety standards before returning to service.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and perfectly safe work environment within the maintenance facility.
- Accurately document all repair work, labor hours, and parts usage in our fleet management software.
Qualifications and Benefits
Candidates must possess extensive automotive or diesel repair experience and a solid understanding of commercial vehicle systems. A valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required; a CDL is a plus. ASE certifications are highly preferred.
